Elena of London is a faithful recreation of Nathanael Herreshoff's celebrated 1910 racing schooner, built in steel by a Galician yard in 2009 from the original drawings. Under nearly 1,200 square metres of upwind sail she is a genuine performer, with podium finishes at the great classic regattas of St Tropez, St Barth, Antigua and Monaco. Below deck, warm mahogany joinery and skylights set a calm, classic tone. Ten guests sleep in five ensuite cabins, including a generous full beam master, looked after by a crew of eight. Her sweeping teak decks invite open air dining and long afternoons under sail, and this season she cruises the Mediterranean and Northern European waters, including the UK where she is licensed to operate.
