Most people price a yacht the way they price a car: one number, one owner. But almost nobody charters alone. The number that matters is the rate divided by the group, and that number surprises people.
The basic arithmetic
Take a crewed day boat at 6,000 euros for the day, licensed for twelve guests. That is 500 euros per person for a private yacht, professional crew, and eight hours on the water. Compare that with a serious night out in Ibiza or a beach club day with a booked table and bottles, and the yacht is often the cheaper of the two. At the entry of the range the math gets friendlier still. As of summer 2026 our published day rates start at 999 euros in Ibiza and around 1,500 euros in Malta. A 1,500 euro boat for eight guests is under 190 euros each. That is not a millionaire's number. It is a birthday number.
Where the per person logic has limits
Guest capacity is a legal limit, not a suggestion. Most day boats in the Mediterranean are licensed for up to twelve guests regardless of size, so you cannot make a boat cheaper by adding a thirteenth friend. Tell us the real number of guests at the first message and we quote boats that fit it. If the group is bigger than twelve, some areas allow larger licensed vessels or a second boat running alongside, which is its own kind of fun.
What is on top of the rate
Each listing states whether VAT and fuel are inside the day rate or on top, and your quote shows the all in figure before you commit. Food and drink are either brought aboard, arranged as catering, or booked as a lunch stop ashore. Crew gratuity is customary and at your discretion, as covered on our FAQ page.
How to use this when you plan
Decide the per person budget your group is happy with, multiply by the honest group size, and send us that total with your date. That one message lets us shortlist boats you can actually book rather than boats that look good in a feed. The groups that get on the water are the ones that lock the date and the budget first and pick the boat second.
