These are not a small and a large version of the same thing. A day charter is an event; a crewed week is a holiday. Choosing well is mostly about admitting which one your group actually wants.
The day charter
Eight hours, your coast, your crew, back for dinner. It shines for birthdays, groups based in a villa or hotel, first timers, and anyone whose trip already has a full calendar. Budgets start under 1,000 euros for small crewed boats in Ibiza and around 1,500 euros in Malta as of summer 2026, and the per person math on a full group is friendlier than a beach club. No packing, no commitment beyond one date, and if the group chemistry is wrong, it was one day.
The crewed week
You live aboard. Wake in a new bay, breakfast on deck, islands between lunch and dinner. A week is the only way to actually tour a cruising ground: Croatia's islands, the Greek Cyclades, or the run from Naples down the Amalfi Coast. Entry point in our fleet is around 10,000 euros per week in Greece as of summer 2026, plus APA and VAT, and it climbs from there with size and polish. It suits families, friend groups that genuinely like each other at close range, and celebrations that deserve more than an evening.
The honest decision questions
- Is the water the trip, or one day of the trip? That answer is the whole decision for most groups.
- Can your group live together in cabins for a week and stay friends? Be honest; a day is a safer bet for new groups.
- Is the budget per person closer to a festival ticket or a package holiday? Day and week respectively, roughly.
- Do you want to see one place properly or many places from the best seat there is?
The middle path people forget
Two or three day mini charters exist on many boats outside peak weeks, and a day charter in each destination of a longer land trip often beats one compromise week.
