Croatia's charter infrastructure is the envy of the Mediterranean, and its August is the Adriatic's busiest: Hvar and Korcula berths go first, which is why the good weeks anchor out those nights, honestly the nicer option anyway. Where you actually go
The Adriatic's social capital, with its fortress harbour and the Pakleni chain across the channel: anchor there, tender in for the evening, and own the night on your own terms. The lavender island by day is a different, calmer place.
The furthest island out and the best preserved: Komiza's fishing harbour, konobas that grow their own everything, and the Blue Cave on Bisevo first thing in the morning before the queue forms. Worth the extra miles every single time.
Marco Polo's walled town rising straight from the sea, wine islands on either side, and the Peljesac channel's reliable afternoon breeze. The evening stroll inside the walls is the Adriatic at its most cinematic.
Mljet's national park hides saltwater lakes inside a forested island, the softest day of the week. Then the finale: Dubrovnik's walls from the water, the single best arrival in the Mediterranean, and worth planning the whole route around.

Split to Dubrovnik or the other way?+

What about day charters in Croatia?+

When is the best time?+
June and September, without hesitation: warm sea, open berths, softer rates and the islands at their best pace. July and August are wonderful afloat but the marquee harbours fill by afternoon, so those weeks anchor out more, which most guests end up preferring.
Is Croatia good for families?+
Excellent: short hops mean no long passages, the islands break the week into daily adventures, and the protected channels keep the sea gentle. Add Mljet's lakes and the Pakleni coves and it is one of the best family weeks in Europe.
Can we add Montenegro to a Croatia week?+
Yes, and the good weeks increasingly do: the Bay of Kotor is three hours south of Dubrovnik and makes a spectacular final leg. Border formalities are routine for the crews; we set it up in the itinerary from the start.
