Yacht charter Sardinia

HomeFleet › Yacht charter Sardinia

Northeast Sardinia has the clearest water in the western Mediterranean, and it is not close. The granite of the Maddalena archipelago filters the sea into colours that look retouched, the Costa Smeralda parks world class glamour next to national park silence, and on settled days the Bonifacio strait puts Corsica's white cliffs within a day's run.

Every rate on this page is the rate we hold: day boats with crew from €1,000 to €24,200 as of this season, and crewed weekly yachts cruising Sardinia and Corsica from €26,900 a week on MYBA terms. Send dates and group size; we come back the same day in season with what is free.

Italian VAT of 22 per cent applies in Italian waters and day charter guest capacity is capped at twelve under Italian rules regardless of the boat's size. The Maddalena national park requires permits that the operators carry; the payoff is anchorages that have not changed in fifty years.

Where you actually go

La Maddalena archipelago

Seven main islands, mostly uninhabited and park protected, an hour from Porto Cervo: Spargi's Cala Corsara, Budelli by the pink beach, and the Porto della Madonna lagoon where boats seem to float on air. The best swimming water in the western Med, full stop.

The Costa Smeralda coves

Between Porto Cervo and Porto Rotondo the coast breaks into sand bottomed bays, Cala di Volpe, Liscia Ruja, the Mortorio islands, that go full Caribbean by mid morning. Lunch ashore at the famous hotels is bookable when you charter; lunch at anchor usually wins.

Porto Cervo and Porto Rotondo

The twin harbours of the coast: superyachts, the piazzetta scene, and the boutiques. Worth the evening stroll after a day in the islands, and the natural boarding points for most of the fleet here.

The Bonifacio strait and Lavezzi

On settled days the run north threads the boulder lagoons of Lavezzi mid strait, with Bonifacio's white cliffs standing on the Corsican side. One of the great short crossings in the Mediterranean; it turns a day charter into a small expedition.

Crewed weeks: 76 yachts cruising Sardinia

These are full week charters on MYBA terms, contracted with the yacht's own management. Sardinia sits inside a wider Mediterranean itinerary for most of them, so a week can start here and finish somewhere else entirely. Showing the 12 largest of 76.

Sardinia charter questions

How much does a yacht charter in Sardinia cost?+

Day charters in the Sardinian fleet run from €1,000 to €24,200 for the boat, crewed, for the day. Crewed weeks cruising Sardinia and Corsica start around €26,900 on MYBA terms plus APA and Italian VAT at 22 per cent. Every number is the operator rate we hold, published as it stands.

Can we visit the Maddalena islands?+

Yes, and you should: the archipelago is the point of chartering here. It is a national park with entry permits, which the boats we list carry or arrange. Park rules on anchoring protect the water, and your captain knows which lagoons work at which hour.

When is the best time to charter in Sardinia?+

Late June and September are the connoisseur's window: the water at its warmest, the granite light at its best, and the Costa Smeralda calendar breathable. July and August are peak everything and the famous anchorages fill by late morning, which a good captain plans around.

What wind should we know about?+

The mistral. When it blows from the northwest the captains route to the archipelago's sheltered east sides, and the day stays great; the islands are a natural windbreak. It is the reason itineraries here stay flexible, and flexibility is what the crew is for.

Do I need a licence?+

No. Every boat on this page is crewed by professionals. Guest capacity on Italian day charters is capped at twelve regardless of boat size, so give us the honest headcount first.

Can a week combine Sardinia and Corsica?+

It is the classic pairing: the Maddalena islands and Costa Smeralda on the Italian side, Bonifacio, Lavezzi and the southern beaches on the French side, rarely more than two hours apart. Most crewed weeks here run exactly this loop.
